Direct service to Dubai from the autumn
SAS starts up a new non-stop service from Copenhagen to Dubai, whose importance as a centre of international trade, transport and tourism is growing rapidly. The new intercontinental route will strengthen Copenhagen Airport’s position as the key air traffic hub of Scandinavia.
From the autumn, there will be direct flights from Copenhagen to Dubai, when SAS opens its new intercontinental route out of Copenhagen Airport.
Three weekly frequencies
From 31 October 2007, SAS will operate three weekly frequencies between Copenhagen and Dubai, on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, using Airbus 340s. The flights will leave Copenhagen in the evening and arrive at Dubai the next morning local time, with return flights leaving Dubai in the morning for mid-day arrival in Copenhagen.
21 intercontinental routes out of Copenhagen
“The new SAS route will strengthen Copenhagen Airport’s position as the largest air transport hub in Scandinavia. The new Dubai service will be intercontinental route number 21 out of Copenhagen,” said Niels Boserup, President & CEO of Copenhagen Airports A/S.
Dubai - a rapidly growing metropolis
The new service is the first scheduled non-stop service from Scandinavia to Dubai, one of the key metropolises in the Middle East – and one of the fastest growing cities in the world.
“Dubai is increasingly making its mark as a centre of international trade, transport and tourism. It is an attractive destination for tourists and business passengers alike, and there are good connections from Dubai to destinations in Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Africa,” said Boserup.
