Now automated check-in for Sterling flights

Passengers with Sterling airline can now use the automated facilities at Copenhagen airport to check in and print out their boarding card and baggage tags.

More and more passengers using automatic check-in

The automatic check-in facilities at Copenhagen Airport are used by an increasing number of travellers who prefer to do their own checking in. Effective 1 December 2006, passengers flying with Sterling will also be able to use these check-in kiosks.

How to use the machines

Automatic check-in is easy and takes about two minutes. On a touch screen, passengers indicate their destination, flight number, name and booking number, and the machine spits out a boarding card and baggage tags for the bags to be checked. Then all passengers have to do is drop off their baggage at a baggage drop counter.

Check-in kiosk assistance

The new machines are ready for use in Terminals 1 and 2, and there will be staff on site to help with the check-in process until passengers become familiar with the system. Those who do not wish to use the automated facilities can still check in at the staffed counters, Sterling says.

Passengers can save time at the airport

“We’ve wanted very much to do this for a long time – allowing our passengers the freedom to check in on their own – and we hope that the new machines can help save even more time for Sterling’s passengers at the airport, especially during the busy morning hours. This will benefit both business travellers and vacationers,” says Stefan Vilner, commercial manager for Sterling.

Airport supplying the machines

The number of check-in machines at the airport has increased over the past few years as more and more airlines offer this service through the self-service kiosks Copenhagen Airport has made available to the airlines since 1 December 2004. With Sterling, there are now ten airlines using these machines; SAS and the other Star Alliance partners have their own check-in kiosks at the airport.
