First low-cost route from Copenhagen to the Baltic region
From Monday, 28 March, passengers can fly low-cost to the Baltic region. From that date, Flynordic, owned by Finnair, will operate three weekly flights between Tallinn and Copenhagen.
“The Baltic region is an unexploited market for low-cost flights, but certainly a market with great potential. The new route to Tallinn further boosts the low-cost options out of Copenhagen to Eastern Europe. There are already no-frills flights to Prague and Warsaw; from late February Sterling will operate low-cost flights to Budapest; and Skyeurope will be launching flights to Bratislava and other destinations from mid-April," comments Ole Wieth Christensen, route developer at Copenhagen Airports A/S.
Flynordic has operated low-cost flights from Copenhagen to Stockholm since November 2003, so Tallinn will be their second destination out of Copenhagen. The aircraft type on the Tallinn-Copenhagen service will be the MD 80 with seating capacity for about 160 passengers.
