Continental to launch new service to New York
From next spring, passengers travelling out of Copenhagen Airport will have more flight options to one of the most popular major city destinations in the world when Continental Airlines launches daily non-stop flights to New York out of Copenhagen.

Continental’s new service to Newark Airport, which is located just 25 kilometres from downtown Manhattan, will be launched on 24 May 2006. There will be daily departures out of Copenhagen at 10.35 a.m. arriving at New York at 1.20 p.m. the same day. From New York, there will be daily departures at 7.10 p.m. arriving at Copenhagen at 9.05 a.m. the next day. |
Flying times will be approximately 8 hours and 45 minutes westbound and 7 hours and 55 minutes eastbound. The frequency of the service will be reduced to five flights weekly during the winter to take account of the traditional seasonal reduction in demand.
In addition to non-stop service to New York, the new service provides good onward connections on Continental, as Newark Liberty International Airport is Continental’s second-largest hub with connections to 170 other cities throughout the Americas and beyond – including 153 served non-stop.
Continental’s new service will be operated with a 172-seat Boeing 757-200 aircraft, carrying 16 passengers in the BusinessFirst cabin and 156 in Economy.
Continental Airlines is the world’s sixth-largest airline with more than 3.100 daily departures to domestic and 131 international destinations, more than any other carrier in the world.
