A new joint brand identity for Copenhagen launched to create growth for the capital city.

The capital region has got a new strong brand identity under the slogan: cOPENhagen – Open for you. The reason behind the new identity is to attract tourists, expats and foreign investments and create growth for the capital city.

The intention has been to create a joint identity for all Copenhageners and businesses, and to create synergy and more efficient marketing through a joint identity that all businesses, associations and organizations can tailor to their own marketing campaigns but under the same logo cOPENhagen – Open for you.

The new brand identity is a joint collaboration between various stakeholders in the city such as private businesses, municipalities and NGOs, that have joined forces to promote the city as an “open” city and to strengthen and promote Copenhagen’s position from the increasingly intense competition from other capital cities in Europe such as Amsterdam, Berlin and Stockholm. Today Brand Copenhagen has around 30 members supporting the brand, among these are: Microsoft, SAS, Copenhagen Airport, Wonderful Copenhagen, Copenhagen Capacity, City & Port Development, Copenhagen Business School and Copenhagen University to name a few.

Why Open?

Copenhagen is a city where people are friendly and welcoming, they speak English and the society is characterized by freedom of speech, work/life balance and the business environment is open. Additionally Copenhagen is characterized by user driven innovation, rich culture and design as well as a strong focus on a clean environment. This way “open” has become the vision of the future and creating an even more “open” city to live in is the goal.
