Demand for low cost facilities

On the recently held conference on low cost traffic in Scandinavia CEO for Copenhagen Airports Brian Petersen communicated that the planned low cost terminal Swift is designed to secure the passengers cheap air fares and at the same time secure the airlines new growth opportunities.

The recent years’ growth in low cost traffic means that the significance of this segment is growing for Copenhagen Airport. This, as well as the forecast for continuous growth in the LCC segment, means that CPH has taken the initiative to build a dedicated low cost terminal to meet the demands of the low cost airlines.

With the design and planning of Swift CPH has focused on simplifying the processes, to build a flexible modular terminal which is easy expandable as well as shopping facilities adjusted to the prime need of the passenger: to catch a plane.

When the Swift terminal is finished in 2010 it will offer efficient and speedy turnaround, efficient lounge boarding, efficient passenger processes such as self check-in and bag drops as well as facilities tailored to the low cost segment and their passengers.
