Traffic growth results in cash bonus
Copenhagen’s ranking as Europe’s second best city for business travellers is a very strong indicator of the Øresund region’s progress and prosperity. The integration between the metropolitan area of Denmark and Southern Sweden is continuously being strengthened and new construction projects are regularly launched.
16,000 commuters go across the Øresund Bridge every day, travelling between Denmark and Sweden, the economic state of the region has never been stronger and people are travelling more and more frequently.
The region’s progress and prosperity reflects on the performance of the carriers operation from CPH. 12 of the 20 largest carriers experienced passenger growth of more than 10% in 2006 on their routes from Copenhagen Airport. The 20 largest carriers accounted for 86% of CPH’s passengers last year.
In total CPH experienced a passenger growth of 4.4% which resulted in a cash bonus to the carriers operating at the airport. The total cash bonus of € 2 million is a part of the applicable traffic regulations of Copenhagen Airport.
