Copenhagen Airport is still the biggest airport in Scandinavia with 21.4 million passengers in 2007
In 2007 the total number of passengers in Copenhagen Airport was 21,4 million, corresponding to an increase of 532,032 passengers (+2.5%) compared with 2006.
Breakdown of departing passengers
In 2007 the number of locally departing passengers increased by 517,375 passengers (+7.1%) and made up 72.2% of the departing passengers. The number of transfer/transit passengers decreased by 239,219 passengers (-7.4%) and made up 27.8% of the departing passengers.
International passengers
In 2007, the number of international passengers increased by 374,221 passengers corresponding to an increase of 2.0%. The number of international scheduled passengers increased by 367,870 passengers (2.1%), while the number of international charter passengers and others (GA) increased by 6,351 passengers (0.4%).
Intercontinental
Traffic on the intercontinental routes has decreased by a total of 26,254 passengers (-1.4%). When looking at the number of passengers United States experienced the largest growth as the number of passengers increased by 67,449 (9.1%).
The Nordic Countries
The number of passengers on the routes to the Nordic Countries has increased by a total of 29,271 passengers corresponding to an increase of 0.6%.

Europa
Traffic on the European routes has increased by a total of 371,204 passengers (3.1%).
When looking at the number of passengers Spain experienced the largest growth as the number of passengers increased by 78,812 (5.9%). In 2007 traffic to the EU-countries made up 68.6% of total traffic, corresponding to 13.329,334 passengers (+2.7%).
Domestic passengers
The total number of domestic passengers increased by 157,809 passengers (8.6%) in 2007 when compared with 2006. The large increase in domestic traffic was partly stimulated by the Danish Government’s decision to abolish the DKK 37.50 passenger tax and thereby a larger competition between flights. When looking at the number of passengers Aalborg experienced the largest growth as the number of passengers increased by a total of 140,778 passengers (22.4%). The route to Aalborg is served by Sterling, SAS and Cimber Air.
The development in low cost traffic
In 2007 Copenhagen Airport for the first time had more than 3 million low cost passengers. The share of low cost passengers made up 14% of total traffic which is a relatively large share for a hub airport.

Operations and take-off weight
The total number of take-offs and landings in 2007 were 257,591 operations, a decrease of a total of 765 operations corresponding to 0.3% when compared with 2006. The total take-off weight (tonnage) shows an increase of 1.9%.
Cargo
In 2007, the number of cargo operations increased by 423 operations (5.1%) while the tonnage on cargo operations showed an increase of 7.6% when compared with 2006. The total cargo volume is 395,506 tons corresponding to an increase of 4.1%.
