In 2002, Copenhagen Airport served 18.3 million passengers

Copenhagen Airport has registered the total number of passengers to 18.3 million in the year 2002, which represents an increase of 0.7% compared to the year before.

In 2002, the traffic development remained affected by the terror actions in the USA on 11 September 2001. The graph below shows the development of the total number of passengers summed up for each month 2001 and 2002.

In 2002, the number of international passengers increased by 1.7%. The number of international scheduled passengers increased by 2.9%, while the number of international charter passengers decreased by 12.0%. In 2002, the number of domestic passengers decreased by 7.9% compared to 2001.

In 2002, the total number of takeoffs and landings was registered to 266,894 operations, representing a decrease of 7.6% compared to 2001. The total tonnage (takeoff weight) showed a decrease of 5.0%.

Furthermore, the number of cargo operations showed a decrease of 20.9% in 2002, while the total tonnage (freight operations) shows a decrease of 12.3% compared to 2001. The total cargo volume was registered to 373,694 metric tonnes, representing a decrease of 1.4% compared to 2001.
