In 2000 the number of cargo flights decreased by 7.4% compared to 1999. However, the total cargo weight included in these flights increased by 2.8%. This is due to the fact that the cargo flights are operated with still larger aircraft.
The overall trend from 1999 to 2000 has been influenced by a few events, which happened in the year 2000. For example the catamaran ferry traffic between Malmo City and Copenhagen Airport was stopped in August 2000 due to the opening of the bridge 'Oresundsbron'.
Further the UEFA cup final in football played in Copenhagen City meant a marked increase in the number of charter passengers in the month of May 2000.
