In the year 2001 Copenhagen Airport served 18.1 million passengers
Copenhagen Airport has registered the total number of passengers to 18.1 million in the year 2001, which represents an increase of 0.1% compared to the year 2000.
The main reason for this development in 2001 is the terror actions in USA on September 11, 2001. Further the development in the number of passengers has been effected by the opening of the bridge between Sweden and Denmark (Oresundsbron) in August 2000, which meant that the Catamaran ferry service between Malmoe City and Copenhagen Airport stopped.
In the year 2001 the number of international passengers has increased by 1.0%.
